  - Please be advised that construction on rebuilding the retaining wall near the Pool Pavilion is scheduled to start on or about Monday, August 17th and is anticipated to take approximately 30 days. During that time, the pool path will be closed. Please utilize any one of the other walking paths during that time.

The exit side of the Main entry will be closed for up to 2 weeks. During that time, vehicular traffic will have to be re-routed to the Pool Gate while this work is being completed.

During the construction process, please keep away from any of the equipment and make sure your children and grandchildren do the same.

The construction company, SBB, and your Board have worked very hard to make this project go as smooth as possible. Yes, there will be inconveniences, but we will try to keep them to a minimum.

  - The City of Dallas will spray for mosquitoes in Lake Forest sometime between 10:00 p.m. Friday, September 5th and 3:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6th.  This is done by driving a pickup truck with a low-volume sprayer/fogger down the residential streets. Alleys are not sprayed. This sprayer uses one of two approved chemicals and the equipment is checked and calibrated.

Currently the city does not spray unless there has been a confirmed case of West Nile virus in the area. Yesterday, the City of Dallas Health Department received the test results of a mosquito trapped in Churchill Park on August 20th.  The results were positive for the virus and prompted the spraying in our area.

All residents are urged to stay inside, bring your pets inside, and move your vehicles off the street during this time.

Anyone with questions or concerns regarding this information is requested to please contact Greig Dunnam by calling 972.960.2800 Ext. 344 or send Greig an e-mail at SBB Management.

  - Solicitor Scam Alert - A current Lake Forest homeowner and former Glen Lakes homeowner had heard from former neighbors at Glen Lakes about the following scam:

  • Solicitors sneak into the neighborhood.
  • They are nicely dressed, well-spoken young women.
  • They introduce themselves as volunteers for Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital (or some other heart-string org).
  • They get a homeowner’s information and become that homeowner’s granddaughter.
  • When they get to the next home, they tell the homeowner they are Mr. & Mrs. So and So’s granddaughter and that their grandparents sent them over as they thought that Mrs. So and So would surely want to be a part of this great, charitable movement on whose behalf they are working.
  • They take cash donations (no detail on how they deal with checks but with your check they then have your checking account number and routing number so they can remove as much money as possible out of your account as fast as they can).

This happened in late February at Glen Lakes and the police were called to remove them. They could try this at Lake Forest so please remain vigilant.
